Hope House Mission
It has been a highly anticipated day and finally, after 3 years of planning, coordinating, and fundraising the new Hope House Mission Men’s Shelter is now open in Middletown, Ohio. This brand new $11.4 million facility will replace the 150-year-old facility that Hope House Mission’s staff and residents were previously utilizing. The new facility doubles as a men’s emergency shelter with 50 beds on one wing and a 30-unit, one-bedroom Permanent Supportive Housing wing on the opposite side.
This project has been one of the most unique projects for RiverHills Bank. The funding for the new Hope House Mission Men’s Shelter came from surprising sources. At one point, the team was unsure if the project would be able to move forward. But with the help of a team of financial institutions, federal tax credits, private support and grants, and the generous donations from the community members, the dream became a reality. It was truly a team effort and a beautiful display of the difference that can be made when people join together for the benefit of the community.
The new shelter provides much more than a warm bed and a hot meal for the men. Providing a safe living environment is only step one in helping these individuals achieve balance in their lives and once again become engaged, productive members of the community. Hope House Mission partners with organizations such as City Gospel, JobsPlus, Abilities First, and many others to provide all of the supportive services necessary to help these men.
We cannot thank The Model Group, Hope Houe Mission, Ohio Housing Finance Agency, Federal Home Loan Bank, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, the City of Middletown, and all of the other amazing teams and individuals who worked so tirelessly to bring this project to life.
