Garden Party at the Children's Home of Cincinnati

RiverHills Bank recently completed a multi-phased project at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati. The Children’s Home provides education and therapeutic treatment for children and their families facing social, behavioral, and learning challenges. RHB staff members and their families signed off on times to help restore the garden area while responsibly socially distancing.

Weekend number one’s portion consisted of mulching and planting the garden area. Next, we tackled the creation of a sensory path through the garden area. A sensory path is a colorful, creative, and playful way for kids to build sensory pathways within their brains. These connections are responsible for sight, touch, sound, and enable kids to complete complex, multi-stage tasks and improve their motor skills. Our sensory path included multiple different tactile features. Each square incorporated a new material such as sand, wood, stones, bricks, sod, pool noodles, and more.

RiverHills Bank was happy to help restore and improve upon an outdoor area that will help to facilitate the children’s growth and learning. The kids at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati now have a fun, safe outdoor area to enjoy!

Thank you all for coming out and helping to dig, plant, frame, lay, etc, to make the space beautiful!
