Eastern Woods Senior Apartments

Unsurprisingly, most adults would prefer to age in their home of choice for as long as possible or “age in place.” The CDC defines “aging in place” as the ability to love in one’s own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. Yet surprisingly, communities are finding themselves ill-equipped to provide permanent, safe, and affordable housing to their growing populations of senior citizens. The city of Findlay, Ohio, saw that need and met it. With the help of The Douglas Company, Pennrose, LLC, Moody Nolan, RiverHills Bank, Blanchard Valley Health System, and multiple other great partners, Eastern Woods Senior was constructed. The building has been designed to meet “Aging in Place” design requirements and achieves LEED Silver standards to ensure energy efficiency.

This 120-acre campus includes 50 high-quality senior living units. The campus also provides elevator service throughout the three-story building, a fitness center, an outdoor patio and community gathering space, resident storage, ample on-site parking, all located within walking distance of Birchaven Village. Birchaven Village is Blanchard Valley Health System’s world-class Continuum of Care Retirement Community, which offers extensive senior-focused services, resources, amenities, and healthcare service.

RiverHills Bank was happy to be brought onto the project. RiverHills provided financing of the construction loan, totaling $2,650,000, and the permanent loan of $1,570,000. We thank all of our project partners for their hard work, and we welcome home the 50+ residents that will come to call Eastern Woods home.
