Hawthorn Landing
Hawthorn Landing is a 68-unit new construction, general occupancy workforce housing community in Fairborn, Greene County, Ohio. The property consists of three garden/walk-up buildings containing a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units. Each unit features Energy Star appliances, washer/dryer hook-ups, large walk-in closets, and vinyl plank flooring. The Project’s common area includes a community room with kitchenette, fitness center, laundry room, resident storage space, playground, bike storage, covered outdoor patio space, restrooms, and leasing and support staff office space. The project is located less than two miles from two Anchor Institutions, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright State University. Resident families will also benefit from the newly constructed Fairborn Primary School, located one-half mile from the Project. The new $20-million state-of-the-art public facility opened in the fall of 2020 and can accommodate 1,214 students.
Because this is a workforce housing community, it was vitally important that work opportunities were available in the area. Hawthorn Landing is located 1.5-miles from Soin Medical Center and The Mall at Fairfield Commons, a one-million-square-foot regional mall that employs thousands of area workers. The Project is also located approximately two miles from Clark State Career Center, a regional community college and workforce training center with some of the lowest tuition rates in Ohio, offering 125 degrees and certifications available day, evening, weekend, or online. Finally, the Project is strategically located within several hundred feet of a fixed-route public transportation stop offering service at regular frequencies seven days per week, including transportation to and from the aforementioned facilities. This helps individuals overcome the hurdle of obtaining reliable transportation to commute to work.
